Today we actually got to do some teaching! We woke up a little later this morning because school actually begins at 9:00 (we thought it started at 8:30). One of our classmates was not feeling well so she and Dr. John (our professor) stayed behind. We took the bus to school and quickly headed to class. We were very excited to begin teaching lessons today! Chrissy's lesson went very well on the weather in Belize and she even had her students create their own weather reports. Melissa taught a language arts lesson on past-tense verbs using the game Simon Says.

Then for lunch we has empanadas. They were again, delicious (but not as good as the salbtues). Tomorrow we asked the lunch lady (We should find out her name) to make us her specialty, so we are very excited for tomorrow! At break time, the students get two breaks one in the morning and one in the afternoon, one of Emma's students bought her a snack. For snack they often have fresh fruit, so Emma's student brought her an orange. They do not eat them like we do though! They like to put salt and cayenne pepper on their oranges and we all had a little bite, boy was that spicy...and not really too tasty.

Also, we met a lady named Ms. Gwen today who was a UNF alum and another person high up in the faculty of UB. She is of Garifuna decent, and made an appearance in Melissa's class and taught them about the Garifuna clothing and language.

After school we took the bus home and had dinner at the hotel. Tonight is another night of relaxing and getting ready for school tomorrow, and hopefully staying up late enough to watch Duck Dynasty! haha
Looking forward to the rest of the week and (possibly) cave tubing this weekend!
